Faculty Positions: Applications are invited for several new faculty positions. Candidates are needed in areas including, but not limited to, acute and critical care, geriatrics, and pediatrics. Applicants with teaching experience and established programs of research with commitment to conducting externally-funded research are especially encouraged to apply.

Growth Opportunities: The School has increased enrollment to nearly 700 students in bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and post-doctoral programs, including Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. Four centers contribute to a research-intensive environment that focuses on rural health care, mental health, complementary therapies and the study of nursing and health care history.  Additional areas of excellence include critical care, community health, ethics, geriatrics, health care administration, oncology, and primary care nursing. Several international programs are already established and more areas are developing. With a new building and a new dean, the School is poised for further development.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field.  Registered nurses must have a graduate degree in nursing and be eligible for licensure in Virginia.  Salary, faculty rank, and tenure status are commensurate with education, experience and scholarship record. Joint appointments are available.
