Breaking New Ground: U.Va. Pilots a Clinical Nurse Leader Program
The cover story reviews the new Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) program in this, its pilot year (2005-06). The CNL is part of a nationwide initiative by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), whose goal is to create a "new nurse"- a generalist practitioner armed with a master's degree in nursing who is prepared to meet our health care system's rapidly changing needs.
