In this spirit, the building will include an open stairwell spanning all four floors–-to promote fitness and interaction. Large windows will bring in natural light. A commons area and adjacent café will give students, faculty, and staff a place to meet and enjoy healthy nutrition throughout the day. Given the proximity of the nursing education buildings to the medical education buildings, we will create harmonies through landscaping that will complement the values inherent in the health care professions and reinforce the vital links between them. lmb7s@virginia.edu (Lee Brunjes) Nursing, Education, Public Universities, UVa --2.0 Improvements to McLeod The construction of the new building will enable us to reconfigure and improve space in McLeod Hall. Combined, the two buildingswill not only increase the school’s capacity, but they will enable the school to capture new efficiencies and to dramatically improve our teaching and research missions. Included in the renovation plans for McLeod Hall is an expanded home and exhibit space for the Center for Nursing Historical Inquiry and its valuable collections, more space for the Center for Nursing Research, improved conference facilities, and a state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Learning Center.
