Nursing Research Activities
Research at the UVa School of Nursing is conducted by teams in a number of research centers as well as by individual researchers. Our research focuses on alternative and complementary therapies, rural health, mental health, nursing history, oncology, aging, domestic violence as well as other important health-related topics. In addition to federal grants, funding is provided by private foundations and intramural grants to stimulate creative projects. Opportunities are often created for students - undergraduates, master's and doctoral level - to participate in the research enterprise. The School of Nursing's strong research mission includes a foundation based on collaboration to produce new knowledge. From developing new understandings of human behavior to new models for care delivery, our research teams are energetic, focused, and growing.
