Nightingale Research Award

Funded by the Nursing Alumni Association

Purpose - The Nightingale Research Award is funded by the School of Nursing Alumni Association to provide summer support for tenure track, non-tenured faculty members.

Eligibility - Awards will be made to faculty members employed by the School of Nursing.

Criteria for Selection - Contact the Center for Nursing Research.

Nomination Deadline and Submission Guidelines - Due March 15, 2009.

Funding Period - The funding period is June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010.

Budget - There is $3,000 available for this award. The award may be used in conjunction with other School of Nursing intramural awards. Eligible faculty may receive the award two times.

Selection - The School of Nursing Research Advisory Committee will make its recommendations to the director of the Center for Nursing Research. The director of the CNR will notify the recipient, and will copy the Alumni Council Awards Coordinator and Director of Alumni Affairs on the award letter.

Responsibilities of Recipients - Recipients of the Nightingale award are expected to have a proposal ready for submission to an external funding agency in the year following the award. Recipients are also expected to provide the Alumni Association with a written description of the work accomplished
